Unifox Bicycles launched their 2015 range of bicycles earlier this month. We interviewed Mr. Subir Ghosh, Director of United Group and he told us all about the new line of bicycles and what's in store for the future of Unifox.
1. What is your company's brand strategy and product plan for the 2015 range of bikes?
United Cycle Co announced the launch of their new range of Global Standard Bicycles in the brand of UNIFOX. These bikes are designed and developed in Germany and made with the best components imported with the goal to bring Global standard bikes as seen in Europe but at an affordable price. We also have recently started the Falta SEZ unit for export of high end Bicycles to the developed markets of European Union.
2. What can we expect in the Road and Hybrid segments, what are the bicycles to watch out for?
There are 2 bicycles that are sure to catch the people's attention. The Unifox Manhattan RS 700C is the perfect combination of Road Bike Speed with City Bike comfort. The bicycles has a full alloy frame along with alloy brakes, chainwheel, handlebar, pedals and Seat Post. It is equipped with Shimano 21 speed drivetrain.
There is also the Unifox Road Race 700C model, which has an alloy hybrid frame with a suspension fork and 21 speed Shimano gears. It is also equipped with front and rear disc brakes.
3. What will the MTB range from your brand offer, is there a bike that the consumers need to wait for with bated breath?
The MTB range comprises of APACHE M21 (Alloy Hard-tail 27.5 Size), VIPER 2621HT (Hard Tail 26 size), Rodeo ( Double Shocker 26 size), M Sports (Double Shocker 26 size and 24 size) and Wrangler. The Unifox Wrangler is the model that will leave consumers in awe. The Unifox Wrangler 27.5 is a Premium Full Alloy Hard-Tail bicycle with a SUNTOUR XCT Suspension Fork with mechanical Lockout, 24 Speed Shimano EF 65 Gear with M series Derailleur's, Promax DSK 320 Hydraulic Disc Brake and 27.5" size wheels.
4. What's new with the Kids Range of bicycles? Is there anything that sets this apart from your previous bicycles?
The Unifox BMX Freestyle Rotor with V Brake or Disc Brake is great for kids and adults who are into BMX. Its highlight is the Extra rise handlebar with 360 degree full rotor handling, alloy BMX rims with special 140pc colour spokes per wheel. The Chainwheel is also colour coded with a special colour chain from KMC.
The domestic markets for UNIFOX cycles include Delhi, Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore, Noida, Gurgaon, Ahmedabad, Kolkata, and Siliguri. Internationally the company exports to Bangladesh, Mayanmar and also to European Union countries like Italy, Poland, Germany, Romania, Croatia, Greece etc. With a present business expansion plans the company announced the expectations of reaching the goal of becoming a 100 crore company in the next three years. Speaking on the occasion Mr. Subir Ghosh, Director, United Cycle said, “Our aim is to expand into the manufacturing and distribution of high end and global standard bicycles as seen in the European nations in India at an affordable price.”
