Montra 2018 Range of Bicycles

An areo bicycle, under 50,000 - impossible, right? Wrong. Introducing the Redeem 2018 from Montra, an aero-inspired road bicycle.  The Montra Redeem 2018 has been made using a butted 6061 alloy, aero frame. The bicycle is equipped with 2x9 Shimano Sora front and rear derailleurs. The shifting on this bicycle is controlled by Microshift BSA09 Bar End Shifters. The bicycle has a rigid alloy fork and comes equipped with Wanda P1076 700x25C tires. It comes equipped with Promax RC462 V-Brakes. The bicycle will be available in two sizes - Medium (52cm) and Large (54cm), and in a single colour combination of black and red. All this and the bicycle is set to be priced at INR 40,500.   

The Montra Redeem 2018 is an affordable aero-inspired road bicycle that is ideal for amateurs who are looking to train to get into the professional aspect of bicycling. This bicycle is sure to open up doors to aspiring professional cyclists by being well-spec’d at a very reasonable price point. 

The Montra Helicon X 2018 has been made using an urban sport, 6061 alloy frame and a rigid steel fork. The bicycle is equipped with a Shimano Tourney A070 drivetrain, i.e 2x7 Shimano Tourney A070 front and rear derailleurs and Tourney A070 shifters. The Montra Helicon X comes with Wanda K1176 27.5x1.75 tires with reflective sidewalls and Radius mechanical disc brakes. The Montra Helicon X will be available in two sizes - Medium (52cms) and Large (54cms) and in a single colour option of Chrome and Red. This bicycle is set to be priced at INR 22,500. 

So, what’s new with the Helicon X? Well, it is a road-focussed urban sport bicycle, it has a road-inspired frame geometry with drop handlebars and the works! We are excited to see how the Helicon X fares in the market this year. Given its price point and specs, it will be well suited to beginners looking for an entry level bicycle with a road bicycle geometry at an affordable price point. 

A new name in this year’s line up, the Montra Backbeat 27.5”, a Mountain Bicycle from Montra. The Montra Backbeat 27.5” 2018 has been made using a hardtail 6061 alloy frame. The bicycle is equipped with a Zoom Suspension Fork with a mechanical lockout option. The gearing components of this bicycle are 3x7 Shimano Tourney front and rear derailleurs, and the shifting is controlled by Shimano Altus EF500 Shifters. The bicycle comes with Wanda P1197 27.5”X1.95” tires with reflective sidewalls and Logan LG300 mechanical disc brakes. The Montra Backbeat will be available in three sizes - Small( (16”), Medium (17.5”) and Large (19”), and in a single colour option of Red and Grey. This bicycle is set to be priced at INR 16,500.   

Being a new entrant this bicycle is sure to gather a lot of interest in the market, especially given its price point and specs. The bicycle is ideal for newcomers in the MTB scene looking for an affordable MTB with everything that is required from a bicycle of this category.  

A popular line from Montra, the Montra Trance is back this year with a few changes. The Montra Trance D 2018 has been made using a butted 6061 alloy frame. The bicycle has a Zoom suspension fork with 50mm travel. It is equipped with 3x7 Shimano Tourney front and rear derailleurs. The shifting on this bicycle is controlled by Shimano Altus EF500 Shifters. The bicycle comes equipped with Seyoun 700x35C tires and Logan LG300 mechanical disc brakes with 160mm rotors at the front and rear. It will be available in four sizes - Small (16.5”), Medium (18”), Large (19.5”) and X-Large (21”), and with a single colour option of black and green. The price of this bicycle is yet to be confirmed.    

The Montra Trance looks to be a promising entry level hybrid bicycle that will do well in the urban market. It is well suited to cyclists looking for an affordable, well spec’d bicycle for urban commutes as well as regular long distance riding. 

The Downtown is back this year and is ready to take on the market with full gusto. The Montra Downtown 2018 has been made using a hybrid 6061 alloy frame. The bicycle has a rigid steel suspension fork. It is equipped with 3x7 Shimano Tourney front and rear derailleurs. The shifting on this bicycle is controlled by Shimano Altus EF500 Shifters. The bicycle comes equipped with Wanda 700x35C tires and Logan LG300 mechanical disc brakes with 160mm rotors at the front and rear. The Montra Downtown will be available in two sizes - Medium (18”) and Large (19.5”) and with a single colour option of Black and Yellow. The bicycle is set to be priced at INR 14,200.    

While the Montra Downtown killed it in the market last year, we are interested to see how this bicycle will fare this year given the popularity linked to the model. The bicycle is ideal for beginners looking for a well priced hybrid bicycle to enter the world of cycling with.
