Things We Like

  • Lightweight alloy frame at just 13.4 kgs
  • Powerful Shimano Hydraulic Disc brakes
  • Massive 120mm front suspension travel and a smooth rear suspension with lockout

Things We Don't Like

  • Lack of a remote lockout for the front suspension at this price
Polygon Siskiu D7 (2019) Frame

The Polygon Siskiu D7 (2019) is built on a full Alloy frame. This bicycle is built for cross country and hardcore trail rides on the roughest of terrains. The frame geometry is aggressive yet comfortable to ride thanks to its low and slanting top tube. This low top tube also makes sure there is more standover clearance, which makes it safe when riding on bumpy trails.

The RockShox Air front suspension fork comes with a massive 120mm travel which functioned smoothly during the test ride. The SR Suntour Epixon rear suspension comes with a lockout feature that reduces the suspension’s work rate by 80% and thus making it useful for flatter trails.

Polygon Siskiu D7 (2019) Frame The XC Alloy frame weighing 13.4 kgs comes in 4 fame sizes; 15”, 17”, 19” and 20”
Polygon Siskiu D7 (2019) Design

This XC full suspension MTB, which I test rode came in Black as the primary colour and Red as the secondary colour. The matte finish paint job was smooth with elegant graphics. The internal cable routing for the gears not only made the bicycle look neat but also protected the cables from dirt.

Polygon Siskiu D7 (2019) Gearing

The gearing on this XC trail full suspension MTB is handled by Shimano Deore at the front and Shimano XT at the rear. These derailleurs were smooth and precise in shifting during the test ride and are suited well trail rides, which require constant change in speed. This 2x10 speed drivetrain gave enough depth of speed for steep climbs on trails and also quick accelerations. The Deore rapid fire shifters were easy to control this 20-Speed gearing system.

Polygon Siskiu D7 (2019) Brakes and Steering

Shimano’s BR-M365 Hydraulic Disc brakes are top end performance brakes specifically made for fast trails. These brakes on the Siskiu D7 worked with feather touches and transferred the braking power accordingly in a balanced manner.

The Entity Expert Alloy handlebar with its 740mm width at first looks very long but this helps in keeping the bicycle in full control on fast trail rides and races with sharp corners.

Polygon Siskiu D7 (2019) Wheels and Saddle

The Siskiu D7 rolls on a pair of Schwalbe Smart Sam 27.5” x 2.25” MTB tires. These tires were heavily treaded with enough rubber compounds to keep the tires safe from smaller punctures. The 27.5” circumference helps with fast rolling on these rough trails.

The Entity Expert Saddle was ergonomically designed specifically for cross country trails with the perfect length and width.

This full suspension MTB is specc’d with performance components like the Deore/XT 20-Speed drivetrain and the powerful Shimano Hydraulic Disc brakes. The 120mm front suspension and smooth rear suspension made the ride less bumpy and in full control on fast trails. Priced at Rs.1,11,990 (as on 25th January 2019) the Polygon Siskiu D7 (2019) is the perfect choice for anyone looking to buy a full suspension MTB for trail rides on cross-country XC trail races.
