Pedaleze C2 Eco: ChooseMyBicycle.com Expert Review

The Pedaleze C2 Eco is a Rigid Hybrid Electric Bicycle which is built on a full 6061 Aluminium Alloy frame. This frame is sleek yet strong enough to handle rough surfaces at high speeds. The strongly built tubes and neatly welded joints help in absorbing vibrations of the surface. The slightly slanting top tube does make the riding posture comfort focused. The fork is rigid on this Electric Hybrid and is made of Alloy and was sleek and bladed in shape.

The C2 Eco which I test rode came in a full Black frame with Red as the secondary colour for graphics and text. The matte finish paint job was smooth and premium in quality. The shape of the battery is compact and rounded and blends with the bottom tube design. The LED console looked futuristic with a large coloured display.

This Electric Hybrid Bicycle is equipped with a simple 1x7-Speed drivetrain. This means there is no front derailleur and the rear has a 7-Speed derailleur. Gears generally help in increasing or decreasing the pressure in pedalling. This 7-Speed gear system helps in 2 things; for exercise purposes and also to pedal easily if in case the battery power runs out during a ride. The Skilful trigger shifters were minimalistic and were easy to shift with easy to see gear indicators.

The Pedaleze C2 Eco is equipped with a 5.7Ah Lithium-Ion Battery which powers a Pedaleze branded Mid-Drive motor. This battery is installed on the frame and is detachable. This battery can be easily removed and installed using a simple lock and key system. The 5-Level Pedal Assist modes helps in controlling the power generated from the battery per each pedal. The LED colour display on the handlebar has the assist levels, speed, distance and battery level indicators.

In 1 full charge this battery is capable of giving 35-40Kms in ideal 2nd level Pedal Assist mode. The Mid-Drive motor helps in better power transformation on to the Cycle and this can be easily felt with each pedal stroke. Getting up to 25 km/hr is very easy and seamless thanks to the efficiency of the Mid-Drive motor. These mileages will differ a bit with varied riding conditions and rider weight. This battery takes 2.5-3 hours to charge from 0 to 100% with any normal Indian plug point. The left side of the handlebar has the controller switches for switching On/Off the battery, Increase/Decrease the Pedal Assist and also to switch on the LED light.

The C2 Eco’s stopping power is handled by a pair of Zoom Mechanical Disc brakes at the front and rear. These disc brakes are top notch in quality and were powerful and quick in getting the bicycle to a halt during the test ride at 25 km/hr. The Brake Levers also have an auto cut-off switch which ensures the battery power is cut-off every time either of the brakes are applied. This is a useful safety feature.

The Alloy riser handlebar on this bicycle was of the perfect length which enabled an open chested riding posture and also easy manoeuvring in traffic. The grips are cushioned for added comfort.

The Pedaleze C2 Eco rolls on a pair of Ralson 700x35C Hybrid tires. These tires are slick and fast rolling for easy acceleration and fast riding in the city. The Rims are double-walled and are strong enough to handle rough roads.

The stock saddle from Pedaleze was aesthetically designed for long and soreness free rides with ample cushioning.
