Niterider has come up with a top-notch upgrade to its older model in the form of the Swift 500. The highlight is that the price of the light has not undergone an upgrade and is still at Rs.1,999 (as on 27th May 2019). For the quality and performance that the Swift 500 provides at this price point, it is one of our best buys when it comes to urban front lights.

The Niterider Swift 500 is the new, updated version of their older mid-range urban front light, the Swift 450. Similar to its predecessor, the Swift 500 is compactly built and has a bright 500 lumens LED that powers up the light, providing excellent brightness and visibility that vouches for the quality of the Niterider brand. With four different brightness modes and one blink mode, the Swift 500 provides a variety of options based on the rider’s environment.
The Li-Ion battery that powers the Swift 500 comes with a “Intellicharge” technology that reduces the charging time to half the usual charging time, which means it takes just 2 hours to give the battery a full charge. Another smart feature incorporated into the Swift 500 is the “Lock Mode”, which is activated by pressing and holding the ON/OFF button for 7 seconds, this helps save battery power by preventing the light from accidentally turning on while in stor-age.
The Swift 500 features a lightweight, compact design that encloses the single LED under a collimator lens to enhance the visibility, and is wrapped in an IP64 dust and water proof stand and an airtight fiberglass reinforced plastic body. At just 82 grams, the Swift 500 also boasts of being one of the most lightweight front lights in the 500 lumens segment. The built-in rubber strap of the Swift 500 also helps in mounting the light on and off the bicycle very easily.
The ON/OFF switch is located on top of the light for easy access while riding and also has an inbuilt battery indicator that turns red when there is only 15% power remaining, and turns green once it is 90% charged. The running time of the Swift 500 is around 2 hours on the brightest mode, 4 hours on the intermediate mode, and unto 9 hours on the lowest mode. The blinking mode lasts up to 25 hours with a single charge. The light can be charged through the micro USB port located at the bottom of the light.Overall Rating
