The Ninety One Viper 27.5T is a comfortable and ideal all-rounder MTB for both rough urban roads and flat trails.
The Ninety One Viper 27.5T is built around a Hi-Tensile Steel frame. While Steel is known to be heavy, this Bicycle had a good distribution of weight which was evident when riding on both flats and inclines. The geometry was standard and comfort focused with a mildly slanting top tube.
We can say that this Bicycle is an all-rounder and is trail friendly by the functioning of the suspensions fork. The Zoom branded suspension on this Bicycle has an 80mm working travel which is capable of handling trails and urban roads with ease.
This Bicycle is built on a Hardtail Steel frame and comes in a standard frame size
The Viper 27.5T from Ninety One which I test rode came with Black as the primary colour and Green as the secondary colour for the graphics and text. The Green/White saddle with a huge 91 text is definitely eye catching. The matte finish paint job was top notch in quality. The green brake and gear cables were a nice touch.
The Viper comes in 5 colour variants; Black/Green, Black/Blue, Blue/White, Yellow and Grey with Orange/Blue
The Viper 27.5T which comes equipped with Shimano Tourney at the front and rear as derailleurs. These are entry-level gearing components in Shimano’s MTB hierarchy and they performed to their limits during the test ride. On flat trails and rough urban roads amidst traffic, these derailleurs were ideal for quick and short gear changes. The EZFire Shimano trigger shifters were easy to use and in easy reach from the handlebar.

This hardtail MTB’s stopping power is handled by a pair of JAK Mechanical Disc brakes, these brakes were powerful, safe and balanced on both rough and smooth roads. Both interval and jamming of brakes felt in control when used during the test ride.
The Alloy handlebar on this Bicycle was both comfortable and wide enough to give the rider an open chested riding posture.

The DSI 27.5” x 2.2” MTB tires on the Ninety One Viper were heavily treaded to generate a lot of traction on rough surfaces. While the 27.5” circumference handles the fast rolling resistance and the 2.2” width make sure the bicycle is stable and balanced on muddy and rough roads. The stock saddle had enough cushioning to keep the rider comfortable on bumpy rides.

This is a Hardtail MTB with bright aesthetic colours and design. The wide tires and Mechanical Disc brakes make sure the Bicycle can handle fast rides on rough surfaces. While the Bicycle comes in a standard frame size, the riding posture was comfortable. Priced at Rs.18,599(as on 2nd April 2021) the Ninety One Viper 27.5T is an ideal choice for anyone looking to buy a Bicycle for riding on rough urban roads and flat trails.
