Java is an International Bicycle brand with a wide range of MTB’s, Hybrids and Road Bicycles. This brand forayed into India few years back and has had a consistent release of new Bicycle models every year. Java is known for its stylish design and value for money components on their Bicycles. We got the opportunity to test ride the Java Siluro 3D Deca 22-Speed and here is what we thought.
Weight: 10.4 kgs
The Java Siluro 3D Deca 22-Speed is built on a lightweight butted aluminium frame. The geometry is a bit aggressive and this is needed for fast and compact rides. This frame has a tapered head tube, smoothly welded frame and an integrated seat clamp. The aerodynamic tube profiles make sure the trailing edges to aid in the smooth reintegration of air. The Aero flattened carbon fork was bladed and helped with keeping the front of the Bicycle light.
Java’s designs are always futuristic with smooth welding of the tubes. The Bicycle I test rode came in a White gloss finish frame with Orange and Black for graphics and text. The flat aero tube profiles along with the bladed carbon fork and an integrated seat tube clamp enhanced the aesthetics of this Bicycle.
The Siluro 3D is equipped with a full Deca Road drivetrain. During the test ride both at the front and rear, the gears shift cleanly, smoothly and quietly. I never missed a gear or felt the shifter being unresponsive when I needed to change gears quickly. The 2x11-Speed integrated Deca shifters were easy to use with feather light pushes to change the gears. These shifters have only a single paddle with short and long press to change to lower and higher gears respectively on both sides.
Deca’s Mechanical Disc brakes handle the braking power on the Siluro 3D. These brakes were lightweight components and powerful on flat tarmacs and balanced on even wet roads.
The stock drop handlebar was of the perfect length for optimum control over the Bicycle on steep turns and also gives a compact riding posture.
The Cheng Shin 700x25C slick tires on the Siluro 3D are race specific tires built to be lightweight and reliable. The tube compound which this tire has used makes sure it gives maximum traction on flat tarmacs.
The stock Java Saddle was not only stylish, but has a level of support and cushioning that suits the rider on faster rides just as much as long distance rides. The integrated seat post clamp was aero shaped and made adjustments easier.
This Road Bicycle comes with a full Deca drivetrain and Deca’s Mechanical Disc brakes. The lightweight Alloy frame with Carbon fork kept the overall weight less at just 10.4 kgs. The design and graphics were aesthetic and the gloss finish was smooth and of top notch quality. Priced at Rs.89,900(as on 15th July 2021) the Java Siluro 3D Deca 22-Speed is an ideal choice for anyone looking to buy a Race Road Bicycle with an aero-dynamic profiling.
