The expansion of the Bicycle market in the country has led to the entry of many International brands, offering top-notch Bicycles at competitive price points. Java is one such brand that has gained popularity in the market. The Java Siluoro 2 is a Road Bicycle with a lightweight frame and a carbon fork. We had the opportunity to review this Bicycle and here is what we thought.
Weight: 10.7 kgs
Usage: Leisure/Fitness/Amateur Racing
The Java Siluro 2’s frame has been made using Aluminium Alloy, which is perfect to achieve an excellent aero-to-comfort ratio. The design of the tubes ensures supreme performance on all kinds of terrain – tested on cobblestones, rough urban roads and smooth city roads. The performance across all terrains was impeccable. This welding technology used on the frame of this Bicycle adds to its light weight.
This Bicycle comes equipped with a Carbon fork. The combination of a Carbon fork and Aluminium frame offers an ideal collaboration between the frame and fork. The fork absorbs shock felt from riding on cobblestones, and/or bumpy, rough terrain efficiently. This bicycle is available in three sizing options – 50cm. 52cm and 53cm.
The Java Siluro 2 is a well-designed Road Bicycle. The smooth welding on the frame joints adds to the overall aesthetics of this Bicycle. The Bicycle we test rode came in a Matte Black primary colour with Yellow as the secondary colour. The branding on the frame of this Bicycle is significant while not being overpowering. The thin tubes made the Bicycle look sleek and lightweight.
The Java Siluro 2 comes equipped with Deca front and rear Derailleurs. Deca is predominantly seen on all ancillary components on the Java range like the handlebar, saddle and rim. This 18-Speed Bicycle is fast when on the road, tackling climbs and flat roads with ease. The shifting was lag-free with Deca derailleurs. The 18-speed shifting is controlled by Deca single lever paddle Shifters which require minimal effort to shift.
The Java Siluro 2 comes equipped Radius branded Caliper brakes. When tested, both interval and abrupt braking was powerful while remaining stable and in control. The braking was as effective on both dry and wet terrain on the test ride.
This Bicycle comes equipped with a Deca Alloy handlebar. The compact shape of the handlebar enables the rider to place their hands on the drop bars without being in an overly aggressive, strained riding position.
The Java Siluro 2 comes equipped with fast rolling and sleek Compass 700x25C tires which are attached to Deca Alloy double walled rims. The tires offered a smooth and fast ride. Cornering felt stable, allowing for crisp sharp turns while being stable.
This Bicycle comes equipped with a Deca Saddle. The saddle offered a level of support and cushioning that is well suited to a rider on faster, short-distance and long rides.
Overall Rating
This Road Bicycle has a frame geometry which is an ideal mix of endurance and race. This lightweight Bicycle along with an 18-Speed drivetrain and Caliper brakes makes it both fast and safe to ride. The deep dish Alloy rims and the sleek tires contribute to better grip and speed on tarmacs. The Java Siluro 2 is priced at Rs.57,000(as on 14th July 2021).
