Fuji, the Japanese bicycle manufacturer backs on a long history of creating bicycles which deliver performance for all kinds of riders. The 2019 range of Fuji bicycles are in India have Road, Hybrid and MTB models. From the MTB range of Fuji we got the opportunity to test ride the Nevada 29 1.9 and here is what we got.

A lightweight hardtail MTB for fast and comfortable off-road riding.
The Fuji Nevada 29 1.9 is built around an A2-SL custom butted Alloy frame. This Alloy frame has a slanting top tube which gives the extra stand over clearance for the rider. The top tube also gets another tube towards the end which connects to the seat tube. This gives the extra bit of strength to the frame when riding over rough surfaces.
This hardtail MTB comes with Suntour SF19-XCE front suspension fork with an impressive 100mm travel. This travel was smooth in working during the test ride and helped absorb most vibrations of the trail and rough roads.
This bicycle is built on a lightweight hardtail Alloy frame and comes in 5 different frame sizes
The Nevada 29 1.9 from Fuji which I test rode came with a refreshing new Satin Khaki Green as the primary colour with Black and Red as the secondary colours for the graphics and text. The matte finish paint job was top notch in quality. The unique top tube design did add an aesthetic quotient along with colour coded forks and saddle.

The Nevada 29 1.9 comes equipped with Shimano Tourney at the front and rear as derailleurs. These are entry-level gearing components in Shimano’s MTB hierarchy and they performed to their limits during the test ride. On rough urban roads and flat trails, these derailleurs were ideal for quick and smooth gear changes. The Shimano EF-41 EZFire 21-Speed trigger shifters were in easy reach from the handlebar grips.

This MTB’s stopping power is handled by a pair of Tektro M280 Mechanical Disc brakes at the front and rear with 160mm rotors. These brakes were powerful, safe and balanced on both dry and wet surfaces. Both interval and jamming of brakes felt in control when used during the test ride.
The Oval Concepts Riser Alloy handlebar on the Nevada 29 was both flat and wide enough with 710mm in length.

The 29” x 2.25” WTB branded Ranger Comp MTB tires on the Nevada was heavily treaded to generate a lot of traction on rough surfaces. The 29” circumference made it easy to ride over rough trails.
The stock performance Saddle was wide and had enough cushioning to keep the rider comfortable on bumpy rides.

This hardtail MTB is built on a lightweight Alloy frame with a slanting top tube for extra standover clearance. The Tektro 100mm front suspension fork absorbs vibrations of the trails effectively.
