This frame is built to ride on flat trails and the roughest of urban roads.
The stock front suspension fork made a considerable difference in absorbing vibrations of the surface during the test ride.
Quick shifts of up and down were smooth and did not have any lags.
During the test ride these brakes were balanced and powerful enough to bring the Bicycle to a safe but quick halt in both dry and wet conditions.
These tires on the FitTrip Scalpel are heavily treaded with bulky treads which cover the tires evenly.

FitTrip is an Indian Bicycle brand which forayed into the market not so long ago. With their focus lying in MTBs, FitTrip have multiple models in their portfolio for different types of terrains and riders. We got the opportunity to test ride the FitTrip Scalpel 27.5 and here is what we thought.

The FitTrip Scalpel 27.5 is an ideal choice all-rounder MTB for weekday urban rides and weekend trail rides.
The FitTrip Scalpel 27.5 is built on a strong yet lightweight Alloy hardtail frame. This frame is built to ride on flat trails and the roughest of urban roads. The slanted top tube allows for the rider to tuck in their knees during drops so as to balance the Bicycle. The tubes are welded smoothly and the material has been used in perfect proportion on parts of the frame, which could experience maximum impact from the surface of the trail.

This Hardtail Alloy frame comes in a standard Medium frame size
The Scalpel 27.5 which I test rode came in a full Blue frame with Red graphics. The matte finish paint job is of top quality and blends the colours used in a neat manner. The slanting top tube and the long raiser handlebar make this Bicycle look sporty and sleeker in design. The colour coded rims and fork along with the bulky treads on the tires make this MTB score high on aesthetics.

This Hardtail MTB from FitTrip comes equipped with a Shimano Tourney 3-Speed at the front and Tourney 7-Speed at the rear as derailleurs. These are entry-level MTB specific componentry from Shimano and they did perform well during the test ride. Quick shifts of up and down were smooth and did not have any lags. The 3x7-Speed combination with Shimano EF500 shifters made sure there was enough range of gears for climbs and acceleration.

The JAK Mechanical Disc brakes handled the stopping power on the Scalpel 27.5. These brakes are powerful on flat trails. During the test ride these brakes were balanced and powerful enough to bring the Bicycle to a safe but quick halt in both dry and wet conditions.
The 680mm raiser handlebar was lengthy and comfortable for quick turns and gives the rider an open chested riding posture.

This hardtail MTB rolls on a pair of Compass Billy Goat 27.5” x 2.10” MTB tires. These tires on the FitTrip Scalpel are heavily treaded with bulky treads which cover the tires evenly. This makes sure fast cornering is safe on wet and muddy conditions.
The stock MTB saddle is perfectly designed to make sure the rider is safe and sore free on a bumpy surfaces.

This MTB has a strong and comfortable frame build and geometry. The suspension lock-out helps ride faster on flatter surfaces. The powerful JAK Mechanical Disc brakes make it perfectly safe to brake when riding fast on trails. The heavily treaded tires provide enough traction and rolls safely on wet and dry surfaces. Priced at Rs.22,400 (as on 11th February 2022) the FitTrip Scalpel 27.5 is an ideal choice MTB for both trails and rough urban roads.
