The Hardtail frame has a slanting top tube, which provided an aggressive position yet gave supreme control on trails for the rider.
During the test ride the stock front suspension fork with its 100mm travel worked well both on harsh urban roads and rough trails.
The Shimano Altus/Alivio 27-Speed gear setup was smooth in shifting.
These disc brakes are powerful and balanced which felt safe to engage even at high speeds during the test ride.

FitTrip is an Indian Bicycle brand which forayed into the market not so long ago. With their focus lying in MTBs, FitTrip have multiple models in their portfolio for different types of terrains and riders. We got the opportunity to test ride the FitTrip Niner 27.5 MTB and here is what we thought.
The Fittrip Niner 27.5 comes with a hydroformed aluminium frame with internal cable routing. The Hardtail frame has a slanting top tube, which provided an aggressive position yet gave supreme control on trails for the rider. Both the top tube and bottom tube aren’t circular, they are flat which makes the tubes sleek and keeps the weight in check.
During the test ride the stock front suspension fork with its 100mm travel worked well both on harsh urban roads and rough trails. The Suspension lockout was a useful feature for efficient riding on smooth and flat surfaces.
The Fittrip Niner 27.5 which we test rode came in a Black primary colour on the frame with Gold as the secondary colour for graphics. The matte finish paint job along with gloss decals definitely enhanced the colour scheme to make it look shining. The internal cable routing made the Bicycle look neat and the colour coordinated rims and suspension fork made it look aesthetic.
The gearing in the Fittrip Niner 27.5 is handled by a Shimano Altus 3-Speed derailleur at the front and a Shimano Alivio 9-Speed at the rear. Having 9 gears at the rear ensures an extended rage of speed which provides more power. The Shimano Altus 27-Speed rapid gear shifters were easy to use.
The stopping power on the Fittrip Niner 27.5 is taken care of by a pair of Shimano Hydraulic Disc brakes. These disc brakes are powerful and balanced which felt safe to engage even at high speeds during the test ride.
The FitTrip Alloy handlebar is 700mm in length with a very slight rise from the middle. This is a perfect MTB handlebar which means a comfortable and open chested riding posture giving great control over the Bicycle during fast paced trail rides.
The Kenda MTB tires impressed us during the test ride. The 27.5” x 2.10” tires were heavily treaded with bulky buttons which covered the edges as well. These tires were fast rolling on flatter surfaces and could handle rough patches with ease.
The stock Trail specific saddle was wide with enough cushioning.
This is a Hardtail MTB with a lightweight and strong Alloy frame which is comfortable to ride. Performance focused components like the Shimano Hydraulic Disc brakes make this Bicycle ready for fast paced rides on rough trails. The 27.5” Kenda tires were fast rolling and the smoothly working 100mm front suspension fork make this Bicycle ride efficiently on rough and flat surfaces. Priced at Rs.35,000(as on 24th May 2023) the Fittrip Niner 27.5 is an ideal choice for anyone looking to buy an MTB for fast paced trail rides and occasional rides on rough urban roads.
