This frame is built to ride on flat trails and the roughest of urban roads.
The travel was sufficient for rolling over rough patches.
Quick shifts of up and down were smooth and did not have any lags

FitTrip is an Indian Bicycle brand which forayed into the market not so long ago. With their focus lying in MTBs, FitTrip have multiple models in their portfolio for different types of terrains and riders. We got the opportunity to test ride the FitTrip Fox Rush 290 MTB and here is what we thought.

The FitTrip Fox Rush 290 is a strong and comfortable to ride hardtail MTB, best suited for flat trails and rough urban roads.
The FitTrip Fox Rush 290 is built on a strong Steel hardtail frame. This frame is built to ride on flat trails and the roughest of urban roads. The slanted top tube allows for the rider to tuck in their knees during drops so as to balance the Bicycle. The tubes are welded smoothly and the Steel material has been used in perfect proportion on parts of the frame, which could experience maximum impact from the surface of the trail.
The stock front suspension fork made a considerable difference in absorbing vibrations of the surface during the test ride. The travel was sufficient for rolling over rough patches.

The Fox Rush 290 which I test rode came in a full Grey frame with Blue and Black graphics. The matte finish paint job is of top quality and blends the colours used in a neat manner. The slanting top tube and the long raiser handlebar make this Bicycle look sporty and sleeker in design. The colour coded rims and forks along with bulky treads on the tire make this MTB score high on aesthetics.

This hardtail MTB from FitTrip comes equipped with a Microshift M21 3-Speed at the front and a Microshift M21 7-Speed at the rear as derailleurs. These are entry/mid-level MTB specific componentry from Microshift and they did perform well during the test ride. Quick shifts of up and down were smooth and did not have any lags. The 3x9-Speed combination with TS38 Microshift shifters made sure there was enough range of gears for climbs and acceleration.

The JAK Mechanical Disc brakes handled the stopping power on the Fox Rush 290. These brakes are powerful on flat trails. During the test ride these brakes were balanced and powerful enough to bring the Bicycle to a safe but quick halt in both dry and wet conditions.
The 700mm raiser handlebar was lengthy and comfortable if you are looking to commute with it. But they are perfectly suited for trail rides with up’s and downs as well.

This hardtail MTB rolls on a pair of Kylin 29” x 2.10” MTB tires. These tires are heavily treaded with bulky treads which cover the tires evenly. This makes sure fast cornering is safe on wet and muddy conditions. The stock MTB Saddle is perfectly designed to make sure the rider is safe and sore free while riding across bumpy surfaces.

This MTB has a strong and comfortable frame build and geometry. The frame is designed for riding on the roughest of surfaces. The powerful JAK Mechanical Disc brakes make it perfectly safe to brake when riding fast on trails. The heavily treaded tires provide enough traction on wet and dry surfaces. Priced at Rs.17,800(as on 17th June 2021) the FitTrip Fox Rush 290 is an ideal choice MTB for both trails and rough urban roads.
