Cannondale have always been in the front front of new designs and technology. A flat bar road bicycle is widely received by riders who donêt want an aggresiv riding position but still need the speed. We got the oppurtunity to test ride the Cannondale Bad Boy 4 2015 and here is what we thought.
The frame on the Cannondale Bad Boy 4 is a BAD BOY, OPTIMIZED 6061 ALLOY connected to a CANNONDALE FATTY RIGID, 1-1/8" STEERER fork. The Stealth fighter inspired tube shapes and design makes the Bad boy ooze attitude and aggression. As all Cannondales, the frame is superlative and the minute you start pedaling you immediately identify the rigidity and design of the frame that ensures you get maximum output for every pedal.
The Cannondale Bad Boy 4 has a very aggressive frame compared to other hybrids in the market. What this means is that you will find yourself positioned more forward with a clear intent for better speed and agility. The ergonomics are such that it also gives you the aggressive stance while retaining good visibility for the rider.
Due to the pricing strategy the Cannondale Bad Boy comes with a drivetrain that consists of SHIMANO ALTUS for front derailleurs and SHIMANO ACERA for rear derailleurs. These are controlled by SHIMANO M310, 8-SPEED, RAPIDFIRE PLUS shifters. This does the job for urban commuting as it merges well with the rest of the bicycle's components to give you a fast and sprightly bicycle.
When a bicycle is built for speed, it needs to have the stopping power to boot. The Bad Boy 4 comes with CANNONDALE MECHNICAL DISC, 160/160MM on both wheels. They stop on call and riders using discs for the first time will have to be cautious not to over break.
The handling on the Cannondale Bad Boy 4 is designed and crafted to ensure quick responsiveness and razor focused maneuverability. It does just that, and riders will notice that it has a road bicycle like responsiveness on a hybrid.
The Bicycle comes with WTB FREEDOM THICKSLICK, 700X28C tires which have been designed to optimize speed and performance, while being built to handle the harshest urban elements. I would not necessarily call the Bad Boy a comfortable bicycle. With the purpose that it has been built for, you will feel bumps on the road due to it's stiff and rigid frame that is focused on speed and agility. This bicycle uses Cannondale's proprietary¾ S.A.V.E micro suspension technology which uses engineered flex in the frame and fork to reduce vibrations, and also to increase the consistency of tire contact on uneven surfaces. This is one of the leading technological innovations in the industry when it comes to shock reduction systems.
When youÈve ridden a Cannondale Bad Boy 4 2015, youÈre left wanting for more. This sums up the bicycle, which embodies great engineering, precision performance and handling. All this makes this bicycle an adrenalin rush every time you ride it. It keeps egging you on to push it harder, and it will deliver every single time. This bicycle is available in matte black, and every element and component is pitch black as well. ξThis Bad Boy 4 is the ideal combination of sophistication and performance for urban commuting.
