Bike Ark is an Indian Bicycle brand with various models from fixies to Hybrids. From their initial Fixed Gear Bicycles this brand added Geared Hybrid Bicycles in their range and now they have launched their Alloy Bicycle. Stylish design and colours has always been the core for all models from Bike Ark. We got the opportunity to test ride the Bike Ark Sonic and here is what we thought.

The Bike Ark Sonic is a performance focused and lightweight hybrid bicycle for fast commutes and fitness rides.
The Bike Ark Sonic is built on a full 6061 Alloy frame. The Sonic is Bike Ark’s mid-performance level Hybrid Bicycles. The frame’s geometry is a good mix of comfort and aggressiveness with a straight top tube, which made sure that the riding posture is perfect for quick acceleration. These tubes have been welded smoothly and the overall frame has been built in a way for it to absorb vibrations of the surface, which in turn will reduce the stress for the rider. The Hi-Ten Steel rigid fork in the front was bladed and strong.

Bike Ark has always been known for their design, since their very first Fixed Gear Bicycle models. The Sonic which I test rode came in a full Metallic Red frame with Black and White as the secondary colours for the graphics. The gloss finish paint job was shiny and neatly done. The deep dish rims definitely enhanced the aesthetics of this Bicycle.

Shimano’s Altus in the front and rear complete the 27-Speed derailleur system in the Bike Ark Sonic. Altus is considered mid-level in the Shimano hierarchy but the latest versions of Altus derailleurs are not only sleek in design but they are also smooth in shifting. The shifting was smooth and no lag was experienced during the test ride. Shifters for these 27-Speed derailleurs are the M370 model from Shimano.

The Tongli branded Mechanical Disc brakes on the Bike Ark Sonic were powerful and ideal for all braking needs inside the city especially amidst traffic when riding fast. The brakes felt balanced and safe to use when interval braking and jamming them as well.
The wide handlebar with a slight raise from the middle gives great steering control and keeps the riding posture comfortable.

The Kenda 700x32C tires on the Sonic were ideal for urban roads. They were fast rolling and the tread pattern gave enough traction to keep the Bicycle safe on slight muddy surfaces and fast turns. Both the deep dish rims were installed with sealed cartridge hubs which contribute immensely towards better and smoother rolling of the wheels. This is a worthy addition for a Hybrid Bicycle at this price. The ergonomic stock saddle was designed with the perfect length and width to make sure the rider is comfortable on both bumpy and long rides.

This Hybrid Bicycle has a lightweight Alloy frame with a comfortable riding posture. The gloss finish paint job was top notch in quality with a smooth finish and the Altus 27-Speed derailleurs were quick and smooth in shifting. The Tongli branded Mechanical Disc brakes were powerful and balanced. The Kenda 700x32C Hybrid tires with deep-dish alloy rims and sealed cartridge hubs were aesthetic and helped in faster rolling resistance. Priced at Rs.32,999(as on 1st October 2021) the Bike Ark Sonic is an ideal choice for anyone looking to buy a Hybrid Bicycle for fitness and commutes on urban roads.
