XMR, the accessory brand from T.I Cycles has a huge range of essential items for bicycles. From locks to bells and lights to bags they have it all. A Lock is the most important accessory a cyclist will need to keep their bicycle safe. We got the opportunity to test the XMR Lock NB Spiral Blue and here is what we thought.
The XMR Lock NB Spiral Blue is a number lock for bicycles. They come with a 4 digit number locking system. The lock is pre-set to open at ‘0000’. In order to change the lock number, you would have to turn the ‘set’ marked rotater anti clockwise and change the 4 digit number to the desired combination an then turn the ‘set’ marked rotater clockwise to complete the locking combination change.
The lock also comes with a holder which is to be fixed on to the seat post using 2 screws. This holder can be fixed on to a seat post of any size using a simple star screw driver. The spiral lock can be rolled up easily and fixed on to the holder which keeps the lock intact even on rough surfaces. The steel lock insertion is strong and keeps the lock intact, free from any attempt to break or cut the cable.
This spiral number lock comes in a bright blue colour. The black number combination system was legible and was easy to rotate. The lock was less than a metre long and could be stretched enough to join the frame and one of the tires. This length also was good enough to lock the bicycle to any foreign object.
The lock holder bush which was black in colour blends in to most dark colour frames and the red button to release the lock holder was easy to use. There is no specified warranty for this lock.
There are a number of different types of locks out there in the market and number locks are known to be more reliable. The XMR Lock NB Spiral Blue was easy to use and the lock holder was also easy to install. The number locking system and the process of changing the locking combination could be done quickly. This lengthy spiral number lock priced at Rs.325 is strong, safe and value for money.
