With an aim to reimagine the way Bicycles are engineered and designed, Triad has a range of Bicycles that place an emphasis on form, function and design. With the belief that every product made will influence and shape consumers in various ways, the brand has a wide range of bicycles on offer catering to a wide demand. We got to test ride the Triad X4 Hybrid and here is what we thought.
Weight: 15.3 kgs
Category: Fitness/Commute/Leisure
The Triad X4 is a Hybrid Bicycle built on a full Alloy frame. This 6061 frame is well designed, sturdy and lightweight. The geometry on the X4 is the perfect combination of comfort and aggressiveness required for a Hybrid Bicycle. You will find yourself forward bent to an extent, which ensures that you are in an ideal position for comfortable riding. The frame has a combination of circular, tapered and flat tube profiles across the frame sections, this results in optimizing strength at the key joints, while minimizing weight where larger tubing is not required.
The front suspension fork ensures that rough roads are tackled with ease and the useful lock-out feature makes it easier to ride on flatter surfaces.
The X4 from Triad is a good looking Hybrid bicycle. The frame design is sleek with eye catchy tube profiles, along with one of the best matte finish paint jobs in the industry. The Bicycle which I test rode came in a full Black primary colour with Orange as the secondary colour for the graphics and text. The colour coded saddle and suspension fork enhanced the aesthetics of this bicycle.
The Triad X4 is a 21-Speed bicycle equipped with a Shimano Tourney TZ30 3-speed front derailleur and a Shimano Tourney TZ50 7-Speed rear derailleur and is controlled by Shimano trigger shifters. When on the test ride, the shifting was smooth and precise. However the front derailleur did experience some lag in shifting, which can be set right by a quick tuning. The trigger shifters were easy to operate, requiring an easy push and pull to shift between gears.
The Mechanical Disc brakes at the front and rear were ideal for precise and safe braking performance on both rough and smooth Urban roads. During the test ride, when braking on fast turns and in traffic, it felt balanced and had a quick response time.
The Alloy handlebar was wide and gave an open chested riding posture while still being comfortable.
The Triad X4 rolls on a pair of DSI branded 700x35C tires with strong Double Walled Alloy rims. The treading and size of the tire were ideal for city commuting and long rides. The rolling resistance was fast and the tread pattern provided enough traction on wet roads as well.
The stock X4 Saddle had ideal cushioning and width for a sore free ride on bumpy roads.
