Track and Trail is a line of accessories and apparels from T.I Cycles. Previously only named as XMR, these accessories now have moved their economy range under the brand name Track and Trail. From Track and Trail’s light series, we got the opportunity to test the Strobe 40LM and here is what we thought.
The Track and Trail Strobe 40LM is a front LED light. The 40LM stands for 40 lumens, which isn’t too bright but enough for night rides on urban roads. This light does have a 180 degree side visibility and a clear 15-20m metre range. This range was enough to avoid ditches and bumps on the road and also makes your cycle visible to on-coming motorists. This light will also be useful for a cyclist to be visible to other motorists during rides on foggy days.
There are 3 modes to this front LED light; 100% brightness, 50% brightness and Flashing with 4 hours, 8 hours and 10 hours battery life respectively. Charging time is 2 hours only to get a full charge from 0.
This Track and Trail Strobe 40LM weighs very little and has an easy to use stretchable silicon strap which can go on both thin bars as well chunky MTB handlebars. The waterproof silicon material will make sure the light stays safe even when riding in rains. The switch on the top of the light felt very easy to switch on/off and also toggle between the 3 light modes.
Perhaps the most interesting and stylish feature of the light was its detachable battery with an integrated USB 2.0 interface which can be plugged into any standard USB port to charge the battery. A Red light on it will indicate low battery and will turn green when the battery is full.
This front LED light isn’t the brightest but its 40 lumens were enough to see those bumps and ditches on city roads which are dimly lit. These lights are also useful to become visible to other motorists on the road. The easy to charge USB and long battery life makes the light long lasting. Priced at Rs.695, the Track and Trail Strobe 40LM is an ideal front LED light for anyone looking for a light to be used when cycling on city roads.
