Polygon is an International brand of Bicycles known for high quality components at an affordable price. The Premier series is Polygon’s range of Performance MTB’s and we got the opportunity to test ride the Premier 5 27.5 (2022) and here is what we thought.

The Polygon Premier 5 27.5 (2022) is a fast and lightweight hardtail MTB with performance focused components for precise gear shifts and powerful braking.
The Premier 5 27.5 (2022) is built around an Alutech XC Hardtail Alloy frame. The frame is strong but not too heavy for a MTB, which ensures that it can handle a lot of hard hitting from the surface. The frame is designed to be built taller from the ground up, giving a larger ground clearance.
The Suntour XCM HLO Suspension fork was smooth in functioning during the test ride with a massive 120mm travel making sure that most of the vibrations of the surface are absorbed. The suspension lock-out was easy to use and was useful in riding faster on flatter patches.
This Hardtail Alloy frame comes in 3 different frame sizes
The Premier 5 27.5 (2022) which I test rode came in a Matte Black primary colour with Yellow and Black as the secondary colours for graphics and text. The sleek chain and seat stays looks elegant on the frame. The graphics were simple yet bright with colour coded fork, saddle and rims. The lengthy handlebar and heavily treaded tires gave this Bicycle the perfect rugged MTB look.

Shimano’s Altus at the front and Alivio at the rear, form the drivetrain on the Polygon Premier 5 27.5 (2022). These gearing components from Shimano were mid-performance level MTB components and were smooth and quick in transmission during the test ride. This Altus/Alivio drivetrain on this Bicycle is the same from last year on this model. The 2x9-Speed gear range was enough for steep climbs and quick accelerations.

The Tektro Hydraulic Disc brakes on the Premier 5 were as powerful as it can get on a mid-level Hardtail MTB. During the test ride, the brakes were powerful and felt balanced to use on both wet and dry conditions.
The 740mm Entity branded handlebar was lengthy, thus making it comfortable for both occasional urban rides and trail rides.

This Hardtail MTB rolls on a pair of Entity Mitz 27.5” x 2.25” tires. These tires are heavily treaded with bulky treads which cover the tires evenly and rolls fast on flatter surfaces.
The Entity Void MTB saddle is perfectly designed and is ergonomic to make sure the rider is safe and sore free on a bumpy ride.

This MTB has a strong yet lightweight Alloy frame. Shimano’s Altus/Alivio 18-Speed drivetrain is smooth and accurate in shifting. The powerful Tektro Hydraulic Disc brakes make it perfectly safe to brake when riding fast on trails. The heavily treaded 27.5” tires provide enough traction and rolls fast. Priced at Rs.43,490(as on 26th April 2022) the Polygon Premier 5 27.5 (2022) is an ideal choice MTB for moderate trail rides and occasional urban rides.
