We got an opportunity to review one of NiteRider’s urban commuter lights, the Swift 450, and here’s what we think.
The NiteRider Swift 450 looks small in size at the first look, but it packs a mighty punch in the form of a bright 450 lumens LED light that provides good brightness and visibility that is expected out of a top-notch performance light. Featuring 3 different Steady modes and 2 different eye-catching Flash modes, the light gives the rider a wide variety of options to choose the setting that best suits the current riding environment. The Swift 450 comes enabled with NiteRider’s unique DVF (Daylight Visible Flash) technology that enables the light to be spotted even in bright daylight conditions.
Built out of a highly durable fiberglass reinforced plastic body held together by hex bolts, the Swift 450 Impresses with its simple and sturdy design. The rubber strap-on mount makes mounting and un-mounting very easy, and is compatible with all handlebar sizes. It comes certified with an IP64 dust and waterproof standard which makes it a good choice for all-season usage.
Powered by an in-built Lithium ion battery, the single LED light is encased within an innovatively designed collimator lens that optimizes the output and visibility of the light. With one full charge, the light can last unto 9 hours on the Low setting, 5 hours on the Medium setting and unto 2 hours on the brightest setting. There is also a flash mode that will last for up to 25 hours. There is also a battery indicator lamp that turns red when the power goes below 20%. Charging the battery is through a micro USB port that’s tucked away on the underside of the light and covered securely by a tight rubber cap.
