Java is an International Bicycle brand with a wide range of MTBs, Hybrid and Road Bicycles. This brand forayed into India a few years back and has had a consistent release of new Bicycle models every year. Java is known for its stylish design and value for money components on its Bicycles. We got the opportunity to test ride the Java Siluro 6 and here is what we thought.

Usage: Fitness/Racing
The Java Siluro 6 is built on a lightweight butted Aluminium frame. The geometry is a bit aggressive and this is needed for fast and compact rides. This frame has a tapered head tube, a smoothly welded frame and an integrated seat clamp. The aero dynamic tube profiles make sure the trailing edges to aid in the smooth reintegration of air.

Java’s designs are always futuristic with smooth welding of the tubes. The Bicycle we test rode came in a Black gloss finish frame with very minimal and stylish graphics. The flat aero tube profiles along with the bladed Carbon fork and an integrated seat tube clamp immensely enhanced the aesthetics of this Road Bike.
The Siluro 6 comes with a full Sora drivetrain. This means that the front derailleur is a Shimano Sora 2-Speed, and the rear derailleur is a Shimano Sora 9-Speed. These are controlled by Shimano Sora 2x9-Speed paddle shifters. The combination of the Sora drivetrain translates to smooth shifting with quick acceleration capabilities.
Deca’s Disc brakes handle the braking power on the Siluro 6. These brakes were performance focused braking components and powerful on flat tarmacs and balanced on wet roads.
The stock integrated Alloy drop handlebar was of perfect length for optimum control over the Cycle on sharp turns and also gives a compact riding posture.
The CST Czar 700x25C slick tires on the Siluro 6 are race specific tires built to be lightweight and reliable. The rubber compound on these tires makes sure it gives maximum traction on both dry and wet tarmacs.
The stock Java Saddle was not only stylish, but has a level of support and cushioning that suits the rider on faster rides just as much as long distance rides. The integrated seat post clamp was shaped aero and made adjustment easier.
This Road Bicycle comes with a full Shimano Sora drivetrain and Deca’s Disc brakes. The lightweight Alloy frame with a Carbon fork kept the overall weight less at just 11.5kgs. The design and graphics were aesthetic and the gloss finish was smooth and of top notch quality. Priced at Rs.84,990(as on 11th April 2023) the Java Siluro 6 is an ideal choice for anyone looking to buy a Race-Road Bicycle with aero-dynamic profiling.
