A comfortable to ride and easy to maintain single-speed city bicycle which is value for money
Frog is an Indian Bicycle brand which has a wide range of Hybrid, MTB and City Bicycles for Men, Women, Teens and Children. This fairly new entrant to the Indian Market believes in honesty, functionality and simplicity. Frog Bicycles recently launched a few new models, we got the opportunity to test ride their new City Bicycle; the Frog TopGun 27.5 and here is what we thought.

Frame,Fit and Comfort
The Comfort focused Frame Geometry gives the rider an upright riding posture
The Frog Topgun 27.5 is a City Bicycle which is built around a Hi-Ten TIG Welded Frame. This bicycle has a comfort based frame geometry which makes it easy to ride. The Hi-Ten TIG Welded Steel used is lightweight but at the same time strong enough to handle rough surfaces.
The TopGun 27.5 has a Lightweight Rigid Fork made from Steel which has an aero profile. The bladed shape made the bicycle light at the front.
Design
The Topgun 27.5 comes in 2 colour variants, White and Navy Blue
The Frog Topgun 27.5 is a stylish looking City Bicycle, the Bicycle which I test rode came with a pure White primary colour with simple Silver graphics. The gloss finish paint job was shiny and gave an overall premium outlook to the Bicycle. The full black fork and brake cables made the Bicycle stand out. The 27.5 wheel size also made the cycle look taller and more rugged.
Gearing
The Single-Speed drivetrain was easy to pedal and is cost effective in maintenance
The Frog Topgun 27.5 is a simple Single-Speed Bicycle. This Bicycle is ideal for short commutes and leisure rides around town. A Single-Speed Bicycle is easy to maintain and the large crank made it easier to pedal. Although, one would require that extra effort in pedalling when riding in elevated areas in the city like on flyovers.
Brakes and Steering
The V-brakes were powerful for city roads and are easy to maintain
This City Bicycle from Frog comes with responsive and powerful V-Brakes at the Front and Back. Feathered braking felt comfortable and stable requiring just a light press of the brake levers to activate. The braking mechanism was ideal for City use. The black colour coded brake cables were a nice aesthetic contrast to the white frame.
The handlebar has a slight rise from the centre and is wide enough to give the rider an upright and open-chested riding posture which is ideal for Commuting. One downside which I felt was that the grips were a little hard and didn’t have enough cushioning.
Wheels and Saddle
The 27.5” x 1.75” MTB tires were heavily treaded with strong Alloy rims
The Frog Topgun 27.5 comes with a pair of 27.5” x 1.75” tires which are built on Alloy rims. The tires are well treaded and offer good grip on both wet and dry surfaces.
The Topgun has a Premium Padded Saddle which is ergonomic as well. The Saddle has a stylish design printed on it which improves the overall aesthetic appeal of this Bicycle. The seat post has a QR which enables you to change the seat height quickly and easily.
