The Granite X20 27.5” from Frog which I test rode came with Black as the primary colour with Orange and Grey as the secondary colours for the graphics and text. The matte finish paint job was top notch in quality. The Orange cables were a nice touch to make them colour coordinated. The graphic saddle with bold ‘Frog’ and ‘Granite’ text is definitely eye catching.
The Frog Granite X20 27.5” comes equipped with a Single-Speed drivetrain. The 18 Teeth freewheel along with a 44 Teeth crankset were perfect in size to pedal fast and with minimal effort on Urban Roads. Riding on inclines and flyovers did feel the need for extra pressure but it was comfortable for commutes.
This MTB’s stopping power is handled by a pair of Purk Mechanical Disc brakes at the front and rear. These brakes were powerful, safe and balanced on rough and smooth roads. Both interval and jamming of brakes felt in control when used during the test ride.
The Alloy handlebar on this bicycle was both comfortable and wide enough with a raise from the middle to give the rider an open chested riding posture.
The 27.5” x 2.20” MTB tires on the Frog Granite X20 27.5” were heavily treaded to generate a lot of traction on rough surfaces. The 27.5” circumference made it easy to ride over rough trails and urban roads.
The stock Saddle was wide and had enough cushioning to keep the rider comfortable on bumpy rides.
This hardtail MTB is built on a strong Steel frame with a comfortable riding posture. The Mechanical Disc brakes were powerful and quick.
