Firefox is an Indian performance bicycle brand with a wide range of bicycles and accessories for the bicycle and the rider. The majority of their bicycles and accessories are urban specific and are built for comfort. We got an opportunity to review the newly launched Head Protector K140 Helmet from Firefox and here’s what we think.
The Firefox K140 Head Protector is one of the latest in the range of helmets from the stable of renowned bicycle and accessories manufacturer Firefox, this Helmet features the new FS7 fit system that enhances the comfort and safety features of the helmet. The helmet is constructed using Polystyrene, PP Nylon and Polyether components that make the helmet sturdy, reliable and at the same time lightweight and robust.
As in all urban helmets, the K140 Head Protector has a removable visor that can be fitted to give a rugged MTB look, and can be removed to make it look more aero like a road bike helmet. The color of the visor matches the color pattern of the helmet, which is aesthetically well designed. The helmet carries the Firefox logo on both sides.
With its smooth matte finish, two-tone color scheme, and graphics in contrasting colours, the K140 is a helmet that is surely designed to impress at first sight. The helmet comes in two sizes, Medium (53-58 cms) and Large (58-63 cms) to suit all head sizes. The helmet weighs a minimal 295 grams, thanks to its lightweight construction.
The inner padding is soft and comfortable, and also aids in sweat absorption and ventilation. The airflow through the helmet is also improved as a result of Firefox’s new ventilation design. The nylon chinstrap is more comfortable than the older Firefox hel-mets and the ITW buckle securely fastens the strap. There is an adjustment screw placed at the back of the helmet to adjust the helmet for a more snug fit.
Overall Rating
Firefox has surely put in effort in improving the quality and styling of their helmets and the K140 head protector is an evident example of that. Priced at Rs. 3,000 (as on 14th May 2019) we feel that the helmet might be slightly overpriced, although the build quality and styling are good.
