Firefox is an Indian performance bicycle brand with a wide range of bicycles and accessories for the bicycle and the rider. The majority of their bicycles and accessories are Urban specific and are built for comfort. We got an opportunity to review the newly launched Head Protector EDR3 Helmet from Firefox and here’s what we think.
The Firefox EDR3 Head Protector helmet is one of their newly launched helmets, and it comes with a completely revamped design compared to its predecessors. The helmet is constructed with better quality materials and features a double in-mould design that offers better fit and safety to the rider. The nylon chin strap is more snug and comfortable than the older Firefox helmets and the buckle tends to clip in more securely.
The helmet comes in a trendy two-tone color that makes the helmet look aesthetically very pleasing. On one side, it is Black, flecked with a few Red graphics, and the other side is completely Red, that gives a good contrast to the shade of Black on the other side.
The EDR3 Head Protector helmet maintains the CE approved 19-vent design from its predecessors which does a good job of keeping the rider’s head well ventilated at all times. Made in two sizes, Medium and Large to accommodate most head sixes, the helmet’s construction also makes it very lightweight at 310 grams for the Medium size and 360 grams for the Large size.
The EDR3 helmet also comes with the removable visor that is now a default fitting on all urban helmets. The Firefox logo is printed in bold letters on both sides, that enhances the brand visibility well. The adjustment screw at the back of the head is also of very good quality and is very easy to use.
Definitely an improvement from its previous versions, the EDR3 head protector helmet has gone one notch up on all factors, including fit, safety, style and build quality. However, we feel that the price tag of Rs. 2,900 (As of 28th March 2019) is slightly high for this helmet, although it offers very good value at this price point.
