Cosmic is one of the very few Indian brands which provide both value for money and performance oriented Bicycles. The Cospro series is their premium MTB range which is aimed at being both functional and affordable. We got the opportunity to test tide the Cosmic Cospro M2 29 and here is what we thought.

The Cosmic Cospro M2 is a performance focused Hardtail MTB with powerful Tektro Hydraulic Disc brakes and a Suntour 100mm front suspension fork with lockout.
The Cosmic Cospro M2 is built on a strong Alloy frame. This Hardtail Alloy frame is built on a way to make sure there is extra material on areas which can get hard impact from trails. Other tubes are hence thinner which makes the overall frame lightweight for a MTB. The slanting top tube gives the rider extra standover clearance for the rider when riding over bumpy surfaces.
The Suntour XCT front suspension fork on this Bicycle was smooth and the 100mm travel was more than sufficient to make sure the bumps on the trails are not fully transitioned onto the rider. The suspension lock-out on the fork was useful to make it rigid and ride faster on flat surfaces.
This Hardtail Alloy frame comes in 18” and 19.5” frame sizes
The Cospro M2 which I test rode came in a full Grey frame with Yellow and Red graphics and Black for text. The matte finish paint job is of top quality and blends the colours used in a neat manner. The internal cable routing made the Bicycle look neat and aesthetic. The slanting top tube and the wide handlebar made this Bicycle look longer and sleeker in design. The colour coded rims, suspension and saddle along with the bulky treads on the tire make this MTB look rugged.

This Hardtail MTB from Cosmic comes equipped with Shimano Altus M310 8-Speed at the rear and Shimano Tourney TY500 2-Speed at the front as derailleurs. These are mid-level MTB specific componentry from Shimano and they performed well during the test ride. Quick shifts of up and down were smooth and did not have any lags. The 2x8-Speed combination with Shimano M310 shifters made sure there was enough range of gears for climbs and acceleration.

The Tektro Hydraulic Disc brakes handled the stopping power on the Cosmic Cospro M2. These brakes are as powerful as it can get on a hardtail mid-level performance MTB. During the test ride these brakes were balanced and powerful enough to bring the bicycle to a safe but quick halt.
The handlebar was lengthy and comfortable. The grips were sufficient to absorb some amount of vibrations to make the palm and wrist pain free.

This Hardtail MTB rolls on a pair of Compass Jumping Hare 29” x 2.25” tires. These tires are heavily treaded with bulky treads which cover the tires evenly. This makes sure even fast cornering is safe on rough muddy trails.
The stock Cosmic MTB saddle is perfectly designed to make sure the rider is safe and sore free on a bumpy ride.

This MTB has a strong yet lightweight Alloy frame with internal cable routing. The powerful Tektro Hydraulic Disc brakes make it perfectly safe to brake when riding fast on trails. The heavily treaded 29” Compass Jumping Hare tires provide enough traction and rolls safely on both wet and dry surfaces. Priced at Rs.44,500(as on 2nd November 2022) the Cosmic Cospro M2 is an ideal choice MTB for flat to moderate trails and the roughest of urban roads.
